Over thousands of years many scholars have contributed to Sanskrit literature. Sanskrit literature is so ancient and so vast that sometimes it is not possible to associate any specific work to any specific scholar or person.

In this section we will try to give details of some of the famous scholars and their life. It is not possible to give any accurate information about the lives of the scholars. However based on research by scholars and folk-tales some insight into this subject is available.
